Position Details
The position is bonus eligible based on association and personal performance. Position will be posted until filled. Brief Description: The Senior Portfolio Monitoring Analyst performs a variety of advanced underwriting functions which generally include the monitoring and servicing of existing and new accounts by reviewing, validating, reconciling, and trending tested financial covenants and borrowing base certificates. Frequent analysis and presentation of covenant compliance and financial performance trends to Underwriters, Account Officers, and other company personnel is required. Responsible for the monitoring of a designated portfolio and should possess an advanced understanding of financial statement analysis. Frequently will assist in spreading financial statements for Production Agriculture, Agribusiness, and Capital Markets accounts. Independent decision-making is required. This role would also maintain and manage a small portfolio of credits focusing on Production Agriculture, Agribusiness, and Capital Markets.
Essential Duties
- Provides focused monitoring and risk insight for dairy relationships, including large-scale dairy operations with complex borrowing base, collateral, and reporting structures.
- Interprets dairy-specific operating trends and financial drivers, including milk price volatility, feed costs, herd performance, liquidity pressure, and margin movement.
- Evaluates dairy collateral reporting and supporting information, such as cattle inventory, milk checks, accounts receivable aging, and production reporting, to identify accuracy concerns and emerging risk indicators.
- Evaluate herd composition data, including heifer-to-cow ratios, culling rates, and replacement costs, to forecast long-term operational sustainability.
- Analyzes and evaluates loan applications, approving loans within delegated authorities, and recommending loans for approval to the loan committee.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Levels of Supervision Exercised and Received
Exercises no supervision; makes independent decisions; works under general supervision of Director of Corporate Underwriting or designee.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, majors in Accounting, Finance, Business, Agribusiness, or related fields required, or a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in a similar role in lieu of a degree.
- General knowledge of agriculture and/or agribusiness is required.
- Previous work/internship experience with a customer facing role is preferred.
- Demonstrated familiarity with accounting principles, banking policies, procedures, and processes is required.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills to validate, evaluate, prioritize, and categorize data in various formats is required.
- A self-starting approach to work, great attention to detail and pride in accurate work is required.
- Strong organization and prioritization skills is required to thrive in our fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.

- Must be able to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting.
- Employees will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and a computer for an extended period.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well within a team.
- The ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in the performance of the job.
- Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds is required.
- Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
- Travel may be required.
Full-Time Remote
This role and job function can be done remotely while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work, if needed. Some travel for team meetings and training will be required.
PAY RANGE
Pay Range: Minimum $71,138.70 - Max $123,959.18 Annual. This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class. Reflected is the national base pay range and title offered for this job at the current level. Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates. All hiring is contingent on eligibility to work in the United States.
