Watch Technician

About the role

The Watch Technician is responsible for the authentication, diagnostics, and repair of quartz watches. This position will service watches within our e-commerce centers and collaborate across multiple internal teams to ensure a seamless consignor experience and a frictionless production pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Identify all quartz watches (brand, model, movement brand, movement model)
• Open and close all types of watch cases without damaging them
• Diagnose quartz movement issues
• Change batteries and gaskets
• Replace coils/circuits in quartz movements
• Replace complete quartz movements
• Calibrate chronograph and other complication indicators to original factory settings in quartz watches
• Perform pressure tests on all watch types
• Perform timing measurements on all watch types
• Demagnetize all watch types
• Authenticate quartz watches across all brands
• Clean external components of all non-leather-strap watches (case, crystal, bracelet) using appropriate methods, including ultrasonic solution/machine and steamer
• Perform any additional daily tasks as directed by supervisor

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience servicing quartz timepieces
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Perfect vision (natural or corrected)
• Ability to execute on communication systems
• Adept at working with, and open to learning new technology solutions to increase productivity and efficiency
• Polished verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple complex, time-sensitive situations
• Understanding of daily quotas and deadlines
• Ability to work within specific process constraints

Preferred Qualifications

• Brand certification from a major watch brand
• Experience disassembling and overhauling mechanical/automatic movements
• Experience polishing cases and bracelets

Pay

The expected hourly rate for this role is $25.00.
