Watch Center Analyst I.
About the role
The position is open to current Colorado state residents only. An eligible list may be used to fill other similar positions within the Colorado Department of Public Safety in the next 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic analytical tasks for both tactical and analytical information.
- Utilize intelligence community tradecraft methods and tools for information analysis and intelligence development.
- Develop law enforcement workups.
- Gather information for trend analysis.
- Write basic intelligence bulletins (in partnership with other analysts).
- Access classified documents.
- Compile, analyze, and disseminate information and intelligence from various agencies, the public, and other sources.
- Provide situational awareness and liaise with other law enforcement agencies.
- Assess unfolding events and determine the appropriate method and message to relay leadership personnel within CDPS.
- Access and utilize electronic, technical, and support systems equipment.
- Dialogue with individuals via telephone or email, providing requested information, responding to questions, or seeking information from individuals.
- Provide pre-disaster support to the State Emergency Operations Center training and exercise program.
- Provide operational support to the State Emergency Operations Center during a state declared disaster.
- Directly assigned in-depth SAB products.
- May assist as representation of the Watch Center for special events/meetings.
- Provide updates and input to the "living" W/C policies and training manual (shared responsibility with all W/C staff).
Requirements
- Four (4) years of demonstrated professional experience working in a field closely related to criminal justice or law enforcement with activities that included dispatching, information gathering, analyzing, and customer service.
- A combination of related education and experience working in a field closely related to criminal justice or law enforcement with activities that included dispatching, information gathering, analyzing, and customer service equal to four (4) years.

OR Education And Experience, Knowledge, Skills: A combination of related education and experience working in a field closely related to criminal justice or law enforcement with activities that included dispatching, information gathering, analyzing, and customer service equal to four (4) years.

- Knowledge of gun control laws.
- Previous law enforcement experience.

Pay
Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,076 - $4269/month; $48,912 - $51,228/year
Full Salary Range: $4,076- $6,522/month; $48,912 - $78,264/year
Schedule
100% In-person position. The Watch Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (24/7), requiring staff to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are 10 hours and are structured as follows: Day Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Swing Shift: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Night Shift: 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Shift Bidding: Shifts are assigned through an annual bidding process. Once bids are awarded, the shift schedule remains in effect for the entire year unless a significant operational change occurs.
