Wastewater Treatment Technician
About the role
The Wastewater Treatment Technician position involves treating both bulk hazardous and non-hazardous waste waters according to environmentally responsible and cost-effective ESOL policies, practices, and procedures. This role also entails maintaining records, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail, following instructions, and working independently after proper training.
Responsibilities
- Treat bulk hazardous & non-hazardous waste waters using various reagents
- Attach hoses to the tanker trucks
- Load and unload materials from tanker trucks
- Conduct Tanker washouts as needed
- Run the filtration systems – Filter press, drum vacuum press, and various pumps
- Daily record keeping and maintenance of various record logs and data
- Track information in the WNS program
- Perform general housekeeping and clean up duties as needed, including daily inspection of tanks and tankers
- Manage equipment and conduct minor pump maintenance and repairs as needed
- Perform related work and additional duties as requested/assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 or more years working with wastewater treatment
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Environmental Sciences (preferred)
- Knowledge in hazardous waste and wastewater treatment
Skills
Basic skills required include the ability to maintain records, ensure accuracy and attention to detail, follow instructions, and work independently after proper training.
