Wastewater Treatment Business Class Lead
About the role
We are seeking a Wastewater Treatment and Effluent Management Business Class Lead to lead and grow our existing team in Washington. This role supports other projects, works with the Water Business Group Manager, and collaborates on technical and business development strategies.
Responsibilities
- Supports pursuits and opportunities with new and existing clients
- Mentors staff
- Delivers projects
- Grows the business portfolio
- Provides leadership through mentoring, directing, and delegating to staff
- Maintains focus on the execution of HDR’s growth strategy
- Interfaces with regional and national technology leaders to advance local capabilities
- Supports project teams to pursue and complete wastewater projects including planning, permitting, condition assessment, and design
- Engages in industry groups and conferences
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree is a plus
- 10+ years of experience in wastewater treatment or pipelines and pump station systems
- Active engagement in professional or industry organizations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand both locally and nationally
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills that are necessary to grow and lead a business group
- Strong technical background and experience in planning and design
- Ability to travel; must be able to visit each office with wastewater treatment staff and visit Bellevue for leadership and key meetings, as needed
- Strong active listening and communication skills
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
- 10 years of experience
- Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
- Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
- Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
