About the role
Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Waste Water Technician to join their team in Blytheville, Arkansas.
Responsibilities
- Performs all duties in accordance with company safety policies and promptly reports unsafe conditions.
- Operates and maintains the wastewater treatment system, including electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate water flow.
- Doses appropriate chemicals into process water and monitors treatment effectiveness.
- Cleans, calibrates, and maintains instrumentation, including pH probes and related equipment.
- Operates sludge filter press equipment and performs preventative maintenance activities.
- Collaborates with the Environmental Manager and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot operational issues.
- Records water flow meter readings, pH levels, and other required operational data.
- Conducts laboratory testing of effluent water and adjusts treatment processes as needed.
- Collaborates with the Environmental Manager and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot operational issues.
- Coordinates monthly wastewater discharge sample collection.
- Performs inspections of designated processes throughout the facility.
- Conducts workstation audits to ensure quality procedures are implemented and effective.
- Delivers training to hourly teammates on quality standards, procedures, and plans.
- Supports the gauge calibration program through issuing, tracking, and monitoring production gauges.
- Performs daily audits of gauges utilized throughout the facility.
- Captures special projects as directed by the Quality Manager.
- Participates in continuous improvement, yield enhancement, and quality initiatives.
- Supports plant quality objectives through process control, inspection, and analysis.
- Affords support for additional projects and operational analyses as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork and the ability to coordinate effectively across departments.
- Possesses sound decision-making, analytical, and computational skills.
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Promotes and supports safe work practices in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Maintains regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.
- Thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapts to changing priorities.
Qualifications
