Wastewater Plant Operator D

About the role

Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance, repair, and laboratory analysis of City Wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, tanks, and systems under direct supervision of Wastewater Plant Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, and repairs wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, tanks, and systems.
• Performs laboratory analysis as required.
• Assists in the preparation of reports and documentation related to facility operations and maintenance.
• Responds to emergencies and performs emergency repairs as needed.
• Participates in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
• Ensures compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.

Requirements

• Valid Colorado Driver's License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Valid Colorado CDL Class B with air brake and tanker endorsements, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age to obtain CDL.
• Colorado Wastewater Class D certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Ability to work on call, rotating shifts, some nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain all licenses.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of related experience in plumbing, construction, wastewater plant operations or other similar work experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay

The wage range is $23.67 to $27.27 hourly depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is an in-person position that is not eligible for regular remote work.
