Wastewater Plant Operator

About the role

The role involves operating and maintaining wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and performing routine maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems
• Ensure proper operation of pumps, filters, and other equipment
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance activities
• Document all work performed and report findings to supervisors
• Respond to emergencies and incidents related to wastewater treatment
• Comply with all environmental regulations and safety protocols

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience in wastewater treatment operations (preferred)
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety protocols
• Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment
• Good physical condition and ability to work in various weather conditions

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications

Skills

• Proficient in using wastewater treatment equipment
• Knowledge of water quality testing and analysis
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
