About the role
As a Wastewater Operator II, based in Vancouver, WA, you will join a collaborative team ensuring uninterrupted service delivery to municipal clients. You will perform a variety of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, contributing to the success of the program through effective preventive maintenance, establishing and maintaining sampling procedures, and providing solutions to complex operational challenges.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose operating issues and make process control adjustments.
- Perform or direct necessary corrective actions.
- Aid in the preparation of reports.
- Collect samples and conduct laboratory testing to determine appropriate chemical dosing.
- Maintain shift logs and perform all assigned and related duties as required.
- Occasionally work overtime to accomplish work.
- Shift scheduling is determined by need, and shift changes may be required to facilitate coverage.
Requirements
- State of Washington Level III Wastewater Operator License desired or ability to obtain through testing within 12 months or reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
- Four (4) years of experience in operating water/wastewater treatment plants.
- Proficient in the use of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and to enter data into a maintenance management system.
- Proficient in the use of plant SCADA systems and software.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience operating water/wastewater treatment plants.
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment; general maintenance work; safe work practices; principles and methods of biological and chemical sewage analyses, effects and problems of industrial waste in water/wastewater treatment processes, principles of supervision.
- Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems, and be able to operate plant PLC’s and SCADA systems.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $70,200.00 to $84,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked.
Schedule
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
