Wastewater Operations Specialist
About the role
Operators Unlimited is seeking a Wastewater Operations Specialist to join our team in Greenwood, SC. This role operates a customer treatment plant, ensuring compliance and driving improvements.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customers and opportunities with thankfulness
- Work with the Director of Wastewater Operations and other team members to ensure compliance
- Focus on improvements and growth in every aspect of the position and the business
- Understand SDS and utilize appropriate PPE and safety equipment as required
- Understand the pH scale, calibrate pH meters, and adjust pH as needed with limited assistance
- Document records including flow reports, logbooks, rounds sheets, timesheets, and mileage
- Understand basic p/c and/or biological treatment functions including pH adjustment, coagulation, flocculation, and clarification
- Operate various treatment processes (DAF, Hydroxide Precipitation, Extended Air, etc.) with assistance
- Understand and operate chemical feed systems and troubleshoot with assistance
- Use Service Fusion, Acumatica, and other systems as required with limited errors
- Respond to customer needs with agility, including off-shift and weekend hours as required
Requirements
- A high school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Basic experience in Microsoft Office
- Experience in applicable federal, state, and local wastewater policies and procedures
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and kneel to analyze and review equipment
- Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend ladders and steps to service a plant
- Must be able to walk through large facilities
- Must be able to work in environmental settings
