Wastewater Lab Technician

About the role

The City of Pasco seeks a Wastewater Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the City's wastewater treatment plant laboratory meets local, state, and federal permit and regulatory requirements through accurate testing, quality control, and process monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analysis, maintaining quality assurance and control standards
• Ensure accreditation and compliance for the treatment plant laboratory
• Collaborate with the Environmental Compliance Manager and Public Works – Operations
• Work closely with the wastewater treatment plant and public works teams

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by one (1) year of college-level coursework in chemistry or another science-related field
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field (e.g., laboratory, wastewater plant operations, chemistry, biology, or related science field)
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Washington State Group I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification
• Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)

Pay & Schedule

• $36.60 – $40.41 hourly ($76,128.00 – $84,052.80 annually), depending on qualifications
• Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (opportunity for alternate schedule may be available)
