Wastewater Engineer

Jacobs is seeking a Mid‑Level Wastewater Engineer in Salt Lake City, Utah. The role focuses on planning, evaluation, and design development for water infrastructure projects, often handling multiple assignments simultaneously while coordinating across disciplines and working closely with subject‑matter experts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers and discipline experts to deliver quality engineering products.
• Plan, evaluate, and develop designs for water infrastructure needs and projects.
• Coordinate activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Prepare engineering technical reports, presentations, design drawings, and specifications.
• Utilize computer modeling and Autodesk Civil 3D as needed.
• Maintain attention to detail, quality delivery, and client service.
• Work both independently and as part of a team to lead tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of engineering experience in wastewater‑related disciplines.
• Progressive experience developing engineering technical reports, presentations, design drawings, specifications, and/or computer modeling.
• Foundational experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, quality delivery, and client service.
• EIT certification and a clear path toward obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Preferred qualifications

• 5 + years of engineering experience in wastewater‑related disciplines.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain one within 18 months.
• Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Design and/or project management experience.
• Experience or working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $160,800.00. Individual pay is determined by work location, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
