About the role

Responsible for removing and properly disposing of various waste types—including solid waste, regulated medical waste, and recyclables—from designated areas throughout the facility. Ensures waste is separated correctly and transported to the appropriate disposal locations. Assists with general cleaning tasks, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment by following established cleaning schedules and protocols. Work is carried out in alignment with Tampa General Hospital's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Remove and dispose of solid waste, regulated medical waste, and recyclables
• Separate waste according to established guidelines
• Transport waste to designated disposal locations
• Assist with general cleaning tasks and maintain cleanliness standards
• Follow cleaning schedules and protocols

Requirements

• Minimum experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or janitorial work
• Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is a plus

Schedule

• Full-time, on-site position
• Shift: Day (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Pay

Starting at $15.00 per hour
