About the role
The Waste Northeast Business Development Leader will collaborate with key leaders to drive market opportunities, coordinate teams, and manage client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Area Market Sector Leader, Regional Business Development Leader, and Practice Leadership to ensure local teams are driving market opportunities.
- Strategically grow the Northeast Region by identifying and implementing plans to capture additional opportunities and markets.
- Coordinate with Area Market Sector Leads, Area RBG Managers, Practice Leaders, and local areas to develop a cohesive team focused on driving the market sector with key clients and opportunities at a regional level.
- Track market changes through client and industry involvement and maintain a strong image and reputation for HDR.
- Attend state waste and industry-related conferences to stay informed and network.
- Develop and collaborate on a Waste approach for Client Development Plans, including a system to track and monitor progress.
- Serve as Project Manager for select key clients, managing their needs and expectations.
- Possess and maintain knowledge of client needs, plans, current and trending business environments, and their assessment of HDR in order to anticipate, track, and capture contract assignments.
- Leverage existing HDR resources to provide full cross-sector and multi-business class collaboration for targeted clients.
- Collaborate with the Area and Regional Waste Sector Leadership Management Team to develop market strategies, strategic initiatives, and business development.
- Aid in identifying market opportunities, building relationships, and growing the Waste Sector.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
- Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign.
- Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in-person.
- Demonstrated experience in winning high-value contracts in the A/E/C industry.
- Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
- Maintain a professional or engineering registration or certificate or have related technical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build a network of clients and industry partners.
- Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Skills
Knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services, deep understanding of client needs, and strong financial acumen are essential.
