Washington Semester Program Assistant
The Washington Semester Program is a university-wide academic program for approximately 32 undergraduates who will live, intern, and study in Washington, DC. Each fall, spring, and summer term, the program seeks a program assistant who will play a vital role in the program. This position is a part-time, live-in position in Washington, D.C.
About the Role
This position will provide an excellent opportunity to engage in research, internships, and/or academic study in Washington, DC. The Program Assistant for the Washington Semester Program will live in program housing and serve as the DC contact for emergencies and program-related matters. The Program Assistant will work with students, guest speakers, alumni, and the housing provider to ensure proper program operations.
Responsibilities
- Reside with the undergraduate students in Delta Hall, and ensure a positive living environment. (30%)
- Serve as the primary contact for and respond appropriately to emergencies. (20%)
- Aid in the coordination of weekly seminars and program events. (20%)
- Attend various meetings with program leadership and DC-based constituents. (10%)
- Cook/Coordinate residential check in and check out processes. (10%)
- Aid with all program orientation and training activities. (10%)
Requirements
- Ability to effectively respond to a crisis situation.
- Effective leadership skills to work with a group of approximately 32 undergraduates.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems.
