About the role

The WNTO Partnership Tax Senior Associate will demonstrate and maintain technical expertise in matters related to Partnership (Subchapter K) tax, providing technical training and thought leadership in the Partnership (Subchapter K) tax area for GT professionals and various clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research and analysis on core Subchapter K tax issues, and review partnership agreements and transaction documents in connection with partnership tax compliance and consulting matters.
  • Draft, edit, and refine technical memoranda, guidance, and training materials using clear, structured, and concise language.
  • Leverage LLM tools to enhance writing quality, consistency, and scalability of technical content.
  • Translate complex Subchapter K concepts (e.g., capital accounts, allocations, basis, disguised sales) into plain-English explanations for internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support thought leadership, knowledge management, and internal training initiatives.
  • Work across teams to ensure technical content is consistent, practical, and aligned with firm positions.
  • Support client and internal consultations by synthesizing technical issues into well-reasoned written deliverables.
  • Continuously improve processes for producing high-quality, scalable technical content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Licensed attorney (JD), with preference for LLM in Taxation.
  • If not a licensed attorney, licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office or eligible to sit for the CPA.
  • Background in tax, law, accounting, or a related technical discipline preferred, but not required.
  • Strong writing, editing, and content preparation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear conclusions.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other productivity tools preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 10%).

Pay

The base salary range for this position in the Metro DC - Arlington location only is between $109,296 to $121,176.

Schedule

This position requires in-person attendance at least three days per week, either at a GT office or client site. Consistent with the firm's hybrid work model, this position will require in-person attendance at least three days per week, either at a GT office or client site.
