About the role
The Hawaii State Department of Education seeks to hire qualified teachers for Grades 6 - 8 positions. The minimum qualification is a Bachelor's Degree, except for CTE positions, where different requirements apply.
Responsibilities
- Teach subjects aligned with Hawaii State standards and curriculum.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration.
Requirements
- Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit.
- Enrolled in a Teacher's Education Program (if not already completed).
- Satisfactory demonstration of active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in education or relevant field.
- Passing scores on required state tests.
- Experience in teaching Grades 6 - 8.

Pay
New employees can expect their first paycheck within the first 3 pay periods of their start date. Payday is on the 5th and 20th (or previous business day) of every month.
Schedule
Teachers are expected to work a 10-month work year.
