About the role

The Hawaii State Department of Education seeks to hire qualified teachers for Grades 6 - 8 positions. The minimum qualification is a Bachelor's Degree, except for CTE positions, where different requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach subjects aligned with Hawaii State standards and curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback.

Requirements

• Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit.
• Enrolled in a Teacher's Education Program (if not already completed).
• Satisfactory demonstration of active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in education or relevant field.
• Passing scores on required state tests.
• Experience in teaching Grades 6 - 8.

Pay

New employees can expect their first paycheck within the first 3 pay periods of their start date. Payday is on the 5th and 20th (or previous business day) of every month.

Schedule

Teachers are expected to work a 10-month work year.
