About the role

Latitude is seeking an experienced Washington-barred family law attorney to work with a well-established and respected law firm in Washington State on a completely remote basis. The law firm specializes in Family and Divorce, Wills and Estates, Criminal Law, Guardianship, Asset Protection Planning and Elder Law.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working on family law and/or estate planning matters
  • Capable of working independently
  • Excellent communication, speaking, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Washington state
  • Outstanding references

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in the office and in court and during legal proceedings, ensuring their rights and interests are effectively protected
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and provide sound legal advice
  • Manage a caseload from initial consultation to resolution, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, preparing legal arguments, making court appearances and negotiating settlements
  • Conduct legal consultations and provide expert legal advice to clients, explaining legal options, potential outcomes, and strategies pertaining to their case
  • Ensure all legal practices and personal and professional conduct adhere to state and federal regulations and ethical requirements and stay updated on changes in the law
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with clients, keeping them informed about case progress and promptly addressing their concerns

Pay

The annualized pay for this position ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference.

In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
