Washer Loader Glass Shop

About the role

Performs repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce windows in either Vinyl or Aluminum plants.

Responsibilities

• Removes glass from A-Frame Cart or Rack
• Sets glass on conveyor belt of washer
• Picks up specific LowE glass and runs all four sides through an edge delete table before setting on washer conveyor
• Changes the water filters on the washer as needed
• Flushes the water tanks at the end of each shift/day
• Changes the air filters on the washer as needed
• Tests the LowE detector at the beginning of each shift
• Delivers carts to Glass Washer
• Ensures that equipment used is operable and maintained
• Works at different work stations as production needs require
• Cleans equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures
• May be required to work overtime as business needs require
• Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

• Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times as deemed by management and policy
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality

• Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions
• Volunteers readily; seeks increased responsibilities; asks for and offers help when needed

No education or experience required.

• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock
• Routinely exposed to hazardous noise levels
