About the role

In this position, you’ll use your interpersonal and customer service skills to assist home buyers with warranty claims, resolving their questions and concerns with professionalism, patience, and empathy. You’ll play a key role in building trusted, long-lasting relationships while helping to enhance the quality of people’s lives through homeownership.

Responsibilities

  • Review all incoming customer service requests and ensure emergency claims are handled expeditiously.
  • Meet with homeowners to troubleshoot concerns and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Reach out to Smith Douglas Homes trade partners to schedule warranty work as needed.
  • Complete minor warranty work and perform routine scheduled warranty checks.
  • Communicate updates directly with customers regarding the course of action.
  • Confirm scheduling and inspect warranty work performed by trade partners.
  • Review and approve invoices from trade partners.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and acceptance walks.
  • Work with trade partners to resolve any delinquencies and expedite completion.
  • Provide after-hours “on-call” service on a rotating basis with other warranty representatives.
  • Guide staff on warranty processes and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
  • 1 year of residential construction, punch-out, or similar work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
  • Familiarity with residential home repair and construction.
  • High attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (code compliance courses and OSHA/safety classes helpful).
  • Builder’s license helpful but not required.
  • Clear communication and exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Professionalism, patience, and a positive outlook.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet tools, and ability to learn SMART (proprietary software).
