About the role

The Wares Processor is responsible for production in the hard lines department, including pricing, tagging, and labeling products according to standard operating procedures. This position also involves providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean, neat, and safe work environment. Cross-training and additional duties may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately assess and sort hard line products based on quality standards.
  • Accurately tag and label products based on the pricing guide system.
  • Generate a minimum of $8,000 in store sales from items produced during every two-week production period (adjusted for part-time hours).
  • Maintain a production minimum of 40 totes per day.
  • Increase and demonstrate knowledge of hard line items.
  • Push, place, and maintain merchandise on the sales floor.
  • Follow safety procedures during packing and movement of equipment.
  • Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude toward customers and team members; greet customers enthusiastically.
  • Address customer concerns courteously and respectfully while following retail policies.
  • Act as a positive team member by sharing ideas or concerns with coworkers and management.
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and prepared workstations; request needed supplies from supervisor.
  • Keep the interior and exterior of the store neat, clean, and organized (e.g., vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, mopping).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Open and flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous retail experience preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to read and understand documents such as time cards and policy manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly with employees and customers.

Work Environment

The employee typically works in a store environment but may also be exposed to outdoor conditions when receiving donations. The role includes time in the donation processing area, which is a warehouse-like environment.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending over, reaching overhead, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying of 51–75 lbs.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling with a maximum force of 21–39 lbs (frequent for 0–20 lbs).
  • Rare or no crawling, crouching, kneeling, or balancing.

Pay

Production sales expectations vary by hours worked per week:

  • 20 hours: $4,267 per two-week period
  • 25 hours: $5,333 per two-week period
  • 30 hours: $6,400 per two-week period
  • 37.5 hours: $8,000 per two-week period
