Warehouse Yard Jockey/Truck Driver - Weekend Shift

About the role

As a Warehouse Yard Jockey/Truck Driver you'll be responsible for the movement of trailers between pads, doors and buildings on a timely basis. You'll move trailers around the lot and prepare them to be loaded, as well as shuttle trailers to offsite locations. Your organizational skills will be critical in maintaining a neat and orderly lot to maximize efficiency. You'll safely operate the Yard Truck to transfer trailers between doors and staging pads. This is a low mileage severe duty function requiring particular attention to preventative maintenance checks and services, as well as actual scheduled vehicle maintenance. You'll work on a variety of surfaces including asphalt, concrete and gravel in an environment often contaminated with material subject to embedding in tires.

Responsibilities

• Timely movements of trailers in the yard
• Communicate with warehouse staff via two-way radio
• Performing lot and door checks
• Sliding tandems to meet stage bridge laws
• Checking trailers for safety
• Other duties as assigned
• Use two-way radio with sort operator, shipping lead, and shipping supervisor

Requirements

• Class A CDL with current medical card required
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to lift and move boxes weighing 50lbs or more
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Sufficient strength and dexterity to control tractor and hitch full or empty trailers
• Eye/hand coordination

Pay

Base pay: $23.00 - $26.50 per hour

Schedule

• East Coast Shift: Friday through Sunday
• West Coast Shift: Saturday through Monday
