About the role
Penske Logistics is looking for warehouse associates to join an excellent team. This position involves removing parts from large bins and placing them into smaller bins. The role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting items less than 50 pounds in a warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately match numbers and letters
- Accurately stage and sort products
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Sort and place parts in racks or other designated areas
- Stack cardboard boxes and pallets
- Move materials within the warehouse
- Comply with all safety requirements
- Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
- Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
- Perform quality control
- Identify and remove damaged products when received
- Complete daily logs
- Communicate with associates from other shifts
- Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material/equipment needs
- Record numbers of units handled and moved using daily production sheets or work tickets
- Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers
- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Use computer to enter records
- Maintain inventory records
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- No prior warehouse experience required (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
- Ability to work independently, customer service, multi-tasking, organizational, flexibility, and time management skills required
- Flexible to work overtime preferred
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to work the required schedule and at the specific location required
- Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening required
- This position is designated as safety-sensitive; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required
- Associates must accept responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remember and understand instructions, guidelines, or other information
- Ability to see and verbally communicate
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting
- Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
Pay
$18.68 per hour
Schedule
1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7 am - 3 pm
