About the role

The position is designated as safety-sensitive, requiring associates to work in a constant state of alertness and prioritize their own safety as well as the safety of others.
Responsibilities
- Accurately match numbers and letters
- Stage and sort products for loading
- Load and unload trailers
- Open and close dock doors
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Sort and place parts in racks or other designated areas
- Pull manual dock chains
- Stack cardboard boxes and pallets
- Move materials within the warehouse
- Comply with all safety requirements
- Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
- Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
- Perform quality control and identify damaged products
- Complete daily logs
- Communicate with associates from other shifts
- Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments
- Record numbers of units handled and moved using daily production sheets or work tickets
- Assemble product containers and crates using hand tools and precut lumber
- Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, or shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and distribute items to production workers or assembly lines
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets, shelves, or convey to packing stations
- Weigh or count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards
- Use computers to enter records
- Prepare parcels for mailing
- Maintain inventory records
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
- Transport stored items from warehouse to plant or pick up items from multiple locations for shipment (where applicable)
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- No prior warehouse experience required (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions
- Ability to work independently, with strong customer service, multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
- Flexibility to work overtime (preferred)
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to work the required schedule and at the specified location
- Complete a Penske employment application, background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening

Pay
- $21.14/hr base rate
- $1.00 shift differential
- $1,500 sign-on bonus
- $1,500 retention bonus after 120 days of employment
- $125 boot allowance after 90 days of employment
Schedule
3rd shift: Sunday – Thursday, 10:45 PM – 6:45 AM, with overtime as needed.
