About the Role

This position requires a CDL Class A license and valid Hazmat endorsement. Located at Houston Sun Wholesale DC - SW01; 4300 Pine Timbers St, Ste 110, Houston, TX 77041, this role combines warehouse associate duties with backup driving responsibilities.

Pay

$25 / hour and up to $2,500 through our performance bonuses.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 4:00PM; Driving shift as needed starts at 5:00PM.

Responsibilities

Warehouse Associate Duties (Daily):

  • Accurately pulls, fills, packs, and sets up orders for delivery or pickup.
  • Assists in loading the delivery truck.
  • Receives shipments, logs into inventory, maintains inventory through audits.
  • Communicates positively with supervisors, sales staff, fellow workers, and customers to coordinate deliveries/pick-up.
  • Operates a forklift safely and efficiently, maintains required certification, performs vehicle safety checks, and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Assists in keeping the facility clean, neat, safe, and operating efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Backup Driver Duties (As Needed):

  • Make deliveries using the most effective route to ensure orders are delivered on time.
  • Load and unload the vehicle, ensuring all products are properly secured and hazardous material is separated appropriately.
  • Collect payments and accurately document delivery.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR)).
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and inform supervisor of any maintenance needed.
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and presentable daily.
  • Increase job and product knowledge on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver's license (Commercial Driver’s License, CDL, if applicable), preferably with HAZMAT endorsement.
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) indicating no more than 2 combined violations or at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to maneuver heavy objects, some weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Prior forklift experience.
  • Ability to follow and carry out instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience in distribution, general labor, or warehousing preferred.
