About the role
This position is responsible for the operation of the donation center.
Responsibilities
- Perform and supervise the sorting of donations
- Wash and clean incoming donations for sale floor
- Bale clothing using baling equipment
- Move materials using a forklift as needed
- Unload materials and load bales onto truck
- Maintain the cleanliness and order of the warehouse
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Warehouse and forklift operation
- Certifications/Licenses: Class E operator’s license; forklift certification (obtained within 90-days of employment)
Skills/Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff members, donors and volunteers
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, baler and forklift
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Supervisory Responsibility: Volunteers as directed by supervisor
Physical Requirements
- Speaking, hearing and vision
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Lifting, pulling and pushing materials weighing 50 pounds or more
- Bending, squatting and walking
- Standing for extended periods of time
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a typical warehouse environment
