Warehouse Worker and Baler

About the role

This position is responsible for the operation of the donation center.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise the sorting of donations
• Wash and clean incoming donations for sale floor
• Bale clothing using baling equipment
• Move materials using a forklift as needed
• Unload materials and load bales onto truck
• Maintain the cleanliness and order of the warehouse

Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Warehouse and forklift operation
• Certifications/Licenses: Class E operator’s license; forklift certification (obtained within 90-days of employment)

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively with staff members, donors and volunteers
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, baler and forklift
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Supervisory Responsibility: Volunteers as directed by supervisor

Physical Requirements

• Speaking, hearing and vision
• Excellent manual dexterity
• Lifting, pulling and pushing materials weighing 50 pounds or more
• Bending, squatting and walking
• Standing for extended periods of time

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a typical warehouse environment
