Warehouse Worker 2 - First Shift

About the role

As a Warehouse Colleague II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will help deliver products ranging from life-saving personal protective equipment to microscopes for high school biology classrooms. You will be on the front lines of helping science make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer, and your work will directly impact scientists, nurses, and patients.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders daily to meet expectations
• Work in one or more process paths: receiving, picking, packing, or shipping
• Package and label shipments according to standard operating procedures and complete documentation requirements for hazardous materials
• Help ensure inventory is stored properly
• Work with your team to ensure everyone has a great experience working at Thermo Fisher Scientific

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of general warehouse experience preferred
• Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers) preferred
• Experience handling hazardous materials (chemicals) is a plus
• Experience with computers and scanning equipment preferred

Skills

• Ability to stand and move about the warehouse for significant periods of time (walking, stooping, bending, reaching)
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Desire to work as part of a team, but also able to work independently and solve problems quickly
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs
• Able to lift 40 lbs without assistance; required PPE includes safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs; standing for full shift

Pay

Starting at $19/hour plus an annual bonus, with full benefits available on day 1.
