About the role

In support of the company’s continued growth, the Production Welder is responsible for expertly operating welding equipment to safely produce welded and fabricated parts and assemblies to customer specifications in a timely and efficient manner. This is an hourly position based in the OKC metro area, reporting to the Production Manager.

The applicant must pass a background check, Department of Motor Vehicle check, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Use welders to produce heat and solder together components made from steel, titanium, copper, and other metals.
  • Weld small components and large assemblies such as catwalks, pans, decking, dispensers, boards, and shelves.
  • Assess equipment, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.
  • Monitor equipment for appropriate usage and temperature.
  • Take apart and dispose of large metal objects.
  • Monitor work environment for hazards and maintain healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.
  • Routinely lift, pull, push, grasp, and bend while lifting up to 75 pounds; participate in team handling and lifting.
  • Responsible for proper and safe use, maintenance, and reporting of all company property.
  • Organize and clean warehouse space.
  • Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years of welding experience, specifically MIG welding.
  • Welding certificate is a plus.
  • Must pass an internal weld test.
  • Familiar with common metal shop tools and equipment (welders, grinders, drills, saws, jigs, clamping devices, measuring and marking tools, etc.).
  • Ability to set up jigs and weld while minimizing distortion of materials.
  • Ability to lift or move heavy products up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Safely use hand and power tools, and other shop equipment.
  • Basic understanding, knowledge, and use of a personal computer.
  • Must be able to read and process a bill of materials (BOM).
  • Team player with organizational skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

The work environment is primarily an indoor, semi-climate-controlled warehouse. The following physical demands are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job:

  • 90% of work is performed in an indoor warehouse environment.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Position is very active, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day.
  • Must frequently lift or move items up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Regular exposure to cold, hot, wet, dry, and/or humid conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
