Job Responsibilities

  • Support plant and department OGSM’s and targets in support of greater than 80% Process Reliability
  • Support production lines in achieving goals for PR, safety, quality, and service
  • Actively participate in CI initiative
  • Understand production schedule, customer orders, open orders report, shipping orders, or material purchase schedules to determine items to be moved, received, gathered, or distributed.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, item code, or code dating.
  • Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  • Fill requisitions, requests for materials, and other stock items and distributes to production workers / line.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and stages. Check orders to be shipped against bill of lading and loads pallets onto truck.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weigh or count items within the plant to ensure accuracy of records.
  • Use computer for data entry and analysis.
  • Maintain work and storage areas in clean and orderly fashion.
  • Daily communication with all team members and management through the use of shift meetings, email, and other written and verbal methods
  • Actively promote safety and identify unsafe actions and conditions through the use of a principle-based safety approach
  • Work with teams to identify process issues and improvement opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum one year warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience with MS Word and Excel required. SAP experience preferred.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, required.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, required.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, vendors, and other employees, required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate written and orally with all levels of the organization, as well as internal and external customers, required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to function effectively as part of a team, required.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and adapt to an environment with multiple tasks and changing priorities, required.
  • Ability to interpret and work with abstract and concrete variables in standardized situations, required.
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice with flexibility in start times and work days, required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly, required.
