About the role

Warehouse Technician I performs an array of functions that may include receiving and processing of incoming stock and materials; picking and filling orders from stock; packing and shipping orders; and labeling and packaging of semi-finished stocks. This position ensures that routine daily functions are completed accurately and timely and in accordance with all applicable regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Technician I Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), basic understanding of warehousing processes and flows, GMP requirements for warehousing functions and waste handling
  • Receive incoming stock and materials
    • Verify incoming deliveries per applicable SOPs
    • Perform receiving functions within operating system
    • Pick and stage materials for campus production
    • Assist in delivery of materials to campus
    • Move materials using power industrial truck
  • Labeling and Packaging
    • Verify and store incoming labels
    • Retrieve semi-finished stocks accurately
    • Issue components of packaging within operating system
    • Set up, load, run and unload machines
    • Maintain accurate record keeping
    • Move materials using power industrial truck
  • Order Preparation and Distribution
    • Accurately pick orders from locations noted
    • Verify item and quantity requested
    • Issue item on operating system and within USDA compliance logs
    • Prepare packaging per applicable SOPs
    • Process shipping through specific carriers
    • Move materials using power industrial truck
  • Workflow and Reporting
    • Assist with inventory counts
    • Demonstrate a culture of safety in day-to-day operations, including performing JSAs and safety audits
    • Understand quality assurance, assist in checking documentation and investigations
  • Training and Compliance
    • Comply with USDA regulations
    • Comply with company policies
    • Comply with safety regulations
    • Comply with OSHA and DOT regulations
    • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • 1 year of Warehousing & Distribution experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing, Good Warehousing and Distribution Practices, Cold Chain Packaging and Solutions

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to read, write legibly, and communicate in English
  • Visual inspection
  • Frequent repetitions of squatting, bending and twisting
  • Frequent standing for long periods of time
  • Lifting up to 60 pounds

Working Conditions

  • Special working conditions within cooler storage of 2–7 °C
  • Special working conditions within freezer storage of −20 °C
