Warehouse Associate/Driver I

About the Role

We are looking for a Warehouse Associate/Driver to join our PLATT team in Fresno, CA. This role is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material while meeting company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. The position also includes an essential driving component, operating a delivery vehicle for up to 50% of the time to deliver products to customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and suppliers (No CDL required).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment.
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules; address safety concerns immediately.
• Receive material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses; verify quantity and description against packing lists.
• Stock incoming orders on shelves in an orderly manner and report freight damage claims.
• Prepare branch orders from the warehouse, ensuring correct product type and quantity.
• Process shipment paperwork, including verifying merchandise, applying postage, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring shipments.
• Operate machinery such as forklifts, reach trucks, and wire cutting machines.
• Load common carrier and company vehicles; inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
• Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Operate delivery vehicles to transport products to/from customers, company locations, and suppliers while adhering to DOT, local, and state driving laws.
• Inspect company vehicles for defects and complete daily inspection reports; maintain vehicle cleanliness and service needs.
• Load/unload vehicles, ensuring materials are correct and damage-free before departure.
• Complete all delivery documentation, including customer-signed receipts, packing lists, and manifests.
• Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition, quantities, and catalog numbers.
• Pick up materials from company suppliers.
• Participate in training and mentorship of entry-level Truck Drivers.
• Perform other branch duties as needed, including counter sales and customer support.

Requirements

• No prior experience required; warehouse experience is a plus.
• Certification to operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and at least 21 years of age.
• Must pass pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record reviews.
• Must obtain a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 30 days of hire.
• No suspended driver’s license for traffic accidents/violations in the past 3 years.
• No at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Skills

• General knowledge of electrical products is a plus.

• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle loads up to 26,000 GVW.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and traffic/driver laws.
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Pay

$16.50 to $20.63 per hour, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
