About the role
Triumvirate Environmental is seeking a Warehouse Technician for our Independence, LA team. This role reports to the Operations Supervisor and is onsite in the Independence, LA region.
Responsibilities
- Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following standard operating procedures and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Perform maintenance, adjustment, and calibration of lamp processing and air monitoring equipment in accordance with operating procedures, and maintain applicable records.
- Move lamp containers and post process waste streams in and out of storage within the warehouse and/or storage trailers with designate material handling equipment.
- Perform quality checks of the contents of lamp containers to ensure proper processing through the designated machines/equipment.
- Process all lamp types in accordance with operating procedures.
- Maintain a general knowledge and understanding of labeling and storage requirements.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all lamp processing and air monitoring equipment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.
- Rotating on-call responsibilities as part of our Emergency Response team (optional).
Basic Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation.
- Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC).
- Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company's commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to work overtime on a regular basis.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday).
- Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts.
- The Warehouse Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive.
- Must be able to read and comprehend standard operating procedures.
- Must be able to write simple correspondence and/or routine reports.
- Must be able to effectively speak with employees, supervisors, managers, and other visitors/auditors.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with ease and efficiency in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Basic computer literacy required.
Other Requirements
- Prioritize work activities to complete work in a timely manner and meet productivity standards.
- Observe safety and security procedures, use equipment and materials properly, and report potentially unsafe situations.
- Respond promptly to supervisor or other managerial requests.
- Follow instructions as set forth in established policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to pass all new hire and annual employee medical testing, including physical, respiratory medical evaluation, pulmonary function test, urine mercury test, blood lead test, and drug test.
- Stand and/or walk constantly for approximately 8 hours per 8 hour shift.
- Drive intermittently for approximately 1-2 hours per 8 hour shift (if certified for forklift).
- Must be able to twist, bend, stoop, climb, push, pull and reach above shoulder level.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a work environment where the noise level is usually moderate, and there is constant exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat and/or cold. Work environment may pose potential exposure to mercury, lead, and other hazardous chemicals transferred through LEI facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Forklift Certification.
- Prior relevant industry experience.
- Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification.
- Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
