Warehouse Teammate

Hajoca Corporation is one of the country's largest privately-held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. J & H AITCHESON is one of our Profit Centers and is looking for a Warehouse Teammate at their Lorton, Virginia location.

About The Role

You will:

• Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
• Stock and maintain the warehouse; pick, document, and pack customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
• Act with a high attention to detail to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
• Handle all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to designated employee to handle.
• Identify nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations.
• Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
• Load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
• Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
• Ensure security and controls are in place and upheld to protect Profit Center assets.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety.
• Remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris.
• Inform immediate supervisor of safety issues.
• Assist co-workers in servicing customers.
• Perform all job functions in accordance with the company's Safety Standards.
• Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
• Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

Requirements

• 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
• Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred.
• Strongly prefer a minimum of two (2) years experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, order picking, and material handling.
• Experience using RF scanners and warehouse inventory systems.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
• Must be able to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
• Must be able to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
• Able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.

Pay

Between $21 and $23 per hour.

Schedule

Monday through Friday. Work hours may vary based on business needs.

Training will be conducted in Alexandria, Virginia. Work location: Lorton, Virginia.
