Interstate Batteries offers a workplace where you can be your best self, balancing professional success with personal wellbeing. As a Warehouse Team Member II, you will provide a well-stocked and organized warehouse while assisting Route Service Managers and delivering batteries regularly.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload batteries
- Restock batteries
- Charge, clean, date, and rewrap rotation batteries
- Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries
- Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment
- Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims
- Operate a forklift and motor vehicle
- Run the Hot Shots on a timely basis as needed
- Fill in for NAC Delivery Specialist or RSM, as needed
- Collect and handle payments on account, including cash, checks, and money orders
- Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse
- Follow and fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager
- Other duties as requested
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year warehouse experience preferred
- Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing, and distribution methods
- Knowledge of state, federal, and interstate commerce regulations
- Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems
- Understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements
- Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or forklift
- Must have a clean driver’s record and meet driver qualifications requirements
Work Environment
- Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk, hear, stand, and walk
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
- Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
- Exposed to road hazards when operating or riding in a vehicle
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
