Purpose of Job

The Warehouse Team Member II provides a well-stocked and organized warehouse and assists Route Service Managers. Must be able to deliver batteries on a regular basis.

Job Components

  • Load and unload batteries
  • Restock batteries
  • Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations
  • Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries
  • Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment
  • Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims
  • Operate a forklift and motor vehicle
  • Run the Hot Shots on a timely basis as needed
  • Fill in for NAC Delivery Specialist or RSM, as needed
  • Collect and handle payments on account, which may include cash, checks and money orders
  • Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse
  • Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year warehouse experience preferred
  • Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills and able to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing, and distribution methods
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and interstate commerce regulations
  • Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
  • Understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or forklift
  • Must have a clean drivers record AND meet driver qualifications requirements

Data

  • Regular independent judgment and decision making
  • Exposure to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Exposure to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required

Work Environment

  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs
