Purpose Of Job
Provides fast, friendly service by answering all incoming calls in a professional manner and actively engaging with customers to assess and fulfil their needs.
Maintains sales area, ensuring that it is clean, fully stocked and well-organized.
Prepares invoices and accepts payments using computer.
Makes deliveries using company vehicle and tests/install car batteries for walk-in customers.
Job Components
- Proactively engage customers in a professional manner.
- Drive increased sales by asking open-ended questions to determine customers' needs, answering questions, discussing available options (good, better, best) and suggesting related items (upselling).
- Answer all incoming calls promptly and in a professional manner.
- Accurately prepare invoices and accept payments using computer.
- Safely uses company vehicle to make local deliveries.
- Makes deliveries using company vehicle and tests/install car batteries for walk-in customers.
Qualifications
- High school graduate (or equivalent)
- Able to read, write and compute basic math
- Multi-line phone experience required
- Previous customer service experience is required
- Working knowledge of computers and applicable systems is required
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, quickly transitioning from one function/task to the next.
- Demonstrated good organizational skills and can prioritize tasks
- Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Approaches tasks with a sense of urgency
- Works effectively in a team environment
- Be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. without assistance
Scope
- Data Works under general supervision and guidance
- Accountable for individual accuracy
- Shared responsibility for outgoing inventory
Work Environment
- Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, hear, talk, and use hands to grasp and handle objects.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. without assistance
- Able to sustain extended periods of sitting, standing and walking throughout the day
- Prolonged use of computer and telephone
- Use of PPE required (steel toe boots, safety glasses, protective gloves, etc.)
