About the Role
Interstate Batteries offers a workplace where you can be your best self, balancing professional success with personal wellbeing. As a Warehouse Team Member I, you will accurately and efficiently complete distribution center tasks using various equipment and applications.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship).
- Load and unload batteries.
- Restock, charge, clean, date, and rewrap rotation batteries.
- Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries.
- Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment.
- Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims.
- Operate a forklift and maintain current certification.
- Properly tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship).
- Perform general warehousing duties such as restocking shelves and housekeeping.
- Multi-task and quickly transition between functions/tasks.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
- No experience required; warehouse operations experience preferred (including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack, and stretch-wrap machine).
- Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Sense of urgency and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without assistance; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Consistent walking or standing during shift.
- Repetitive taping of boxes.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
Work Environment
- Exposure to battery warehouse conditions, including moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
- Potential exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
