Warehouse Team Lead

About the role

The successful candidate has prior experience with various warehouse functions such as driving a forklift, inventory control, receiving & processing of incoming material, measuring and cutting flooring products, and loading material and supplies onto the vehicles of our subcontracted flooring installers. This role requires a positive attitude, reliability, punctuality, and the ability to lead a team within a fun and hard-working warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and coordinate all warehouse operations
• Schedule and follow up on work results
• Maintain warehouse inventory; track distribution by physical count and computer inventory
• Conduct cycle counts and periodic complete physical inventory
• Re-order supplies as needed
• Receive and process flooring products by unloading & loading trucks and updating inventory database
• Perform general data entry, including creating work orders for load out
• Verify accuracy of deliveries
• Prepare flooring orders for pickup by subcontractors (measure, cut, label)
• Prepare and load flooring orders for delivery on company trucks
• Process the Exception Sheet, Daily Open Order Report, and Zero'd Roll Tags
• Organize and conduct cycle counts
• Maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment by completing preventive maintenance and arranging repairs
• Oversee warehouse operations in the manager’s absence and provide guidance to other warehouse employees
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2+ years of warehouse leadership and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to create and manage warehouse best practices
• 2+ years of inventory control and inventory management experience, including ordering and tracking inventory using a database system and knowledge of scanning guns for inventory location
• 2+ years of forklift experience, including use of pallet jacks and other equipment
• Technology literate, proficient with Gmail and Google Drive
• Knowledge of proper safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and warehouse best practices
• Able to lift products weighing 50 to 75 lbs. on a repetitive basis

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
