Warehouse Team Lead-1st Shift

About the role

The Warehouse Team Lead oversees daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow, safety, and quality standards. This role also involves leading and training warehouse employees.

Responsibilities

• Master operation of all warehouse equipment
• Oversee receiving and shipping operations
• Perform advanced BC tasks, such as posting inventory, making adjustments, and tracking product flow
• Communicate via email with updates and responses
• Lead and train associates in operations and safety practices
• Cook with multiple departments to ensure smooth operations
• Conduct huddles, enforce safety standards, and lead safety initiatives
• Aid in staffing and scheduling, serving as a backup for all lower-level roles
• Ensure proper handling and storage of food products to maintain quality and prevent contamination
• Adhere to food safety regulations and warehouse sanitation protocols (e.g., HACCP, GMP)
• Cook with other departments (Production, Purchasing, Transportation) to ensure on-time order fulfillment
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Extensive experience in warehouse operations and inventory systems
• Proven leadership and team development skills
• Advanced equipment certifications and strong understanding of WMS/BC software
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience operating all forklifts in a food manufacturing or distribution environment is a plus
• Strong work ethic, team work, and attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of food safety regulations (GMP, HACCP) is preferred
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime
