Warehouse Supervisor III
About the role
The Warehouse Supervisor III will manage and coordinate daily warehouse operations, ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe movement of goods in a fast-paced environment. This role provides hands-on leadership to warehouse teams, drives productivity, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures operational excellence across receiving, put-away, picking, shipping, and replenishment. This role also partners closely with management on process improvements, KPI performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
- Assign work, balance labor, and monitor workflow to ensure service levels and production targets are met.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for floor issues and resolve operational problems in real time.
- Lead, coach, and mentor warehouse supervisors, employees, and coordinators.
- Conduct performance feedback, support development plans, and provide training to ensure team competency.
- Support the hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of warehouse personnel.
- Promote an engaged, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
- Perform daily inspections of work area and report any irregularities.
- Implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory authorities.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Conduct daily employee huddles and communicate organizational needs to employees.
- Resolve conflicts and address employee concerns or grievances in a timely and professional manner.
- Review and verify employee timesheets and approve overtime when necessary.
- Provide feedback to company managers and advise on changes to improve operations.
- Monitor the use of machine and electronic equipment, including power industrial equipment.
- Train new supervisors and organize refresher workshops for existing employees.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years of warehouse or distribution center experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments (food manufacturing/production preferred).
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes including receiving, picking, put-away, replenishment, and shipping.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
- Proficient in using operations management software and tools (e.g., WMS, ERP systems).
- Familiar with industry regulations and compliance (e.g., HACCP, SQF, AIB, USDA regulations).
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends/holidays based on business need.
- OSHA forklift certification and experience with PIT training preferred.
- Basic analytical skills and ability to design and implement workgroup training programs.
- Diligent, punctual, and familiar with MS Office.
- Food safety and safety awareness.
- Strong work ethic.
Work Environment
- Ability to physically lift, push, pull, and stand for long periods of time without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs and stand and remain active for long periods of time without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated/freezer warehouse environment.
- Shift and/or hours are subject to change based on business needs.
