Responsibilities
- Performs or oversees all warehouse functions in a small warehouse or a subset of functions within a medium-to-larger sized warehouse.
- Directs the day-to-day activities of Material Handlers and Drivers in all or some warehouse functions such as receiving, inbound PO reconciliation, inventory control, cycle counting, picking, packing, shipping, customer deliveries, fleet management, and/or other warehouse operations to ensure that customers receive the Right Product, at the Right Time, and in the Right Condition, in a clean, safe, and productive environment.
- Makes recommendations related to staffing, budget, and fulfillment of the warehouse’s financial objectives.
- Fosters a cohesive and productive team through collaboration, inclusion, and teamwork.
- Leads by example and models exceptional customer service.
- Maintains department staff by conducting interviews in the hiring process and making recommendations; conducting and/or ensuring the training of new employees and ongoing training of existing employees; providing coaching, counseling, and disciplining for employees as necessary; and participating in and delivering mid-year and annual performance reviews.
- Communicates daily warehouse staffing with branch/ops leadership and makes recommendations for handling volume of work.
- Maintains branch security by following all appropriate procedures.
- Ensures all safety procedures are followed, and all equipment inspections and repairs are done in a timely manner. Models safe work practices to others.
- Maintains proficient level of skill in picking, stocking, and replenishment to perform duties and/or serve as backup when needed.
- Uses powered equipment, such as forklift, electric pallet jack, and cherry picker.
- May serve as backup driver as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1 year working in a lead or supervisory capacity in a warehouse environment.
- Experience operating forklift and other warehouse equipment safely and competently.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
- Experience with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.
