The Warehouse Supervisor provides guidance and direction for inventory movement in Distributorship’s warehouses, including loading/unloading trucks.
Responsibilities
- Supervises the overall warehouse operations and daily activities of staff.
- Ensures continuous process improvement.
- Coordinates physical inventory process and cycle counts.
- Processes inbound receiving of containers, full truck shipments, truck pallet shipments, and small parcel shipments.
- Operates forklifts and trains Warehouse Workers on safety of goods and efficient use of equipment.
- Oversees and guides team members on warehouse processes.
Requirements
- High school graduate (or equivalent).
- Minimum one year experience in a lead role preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment required.
- Minimum of one year warehouse experience including inventory control procedures and inventory/accounting relationships.
- Strong written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills; able to work under pressure.
- Working knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing, and distribution methods.
- Understanding of state, federal, and interstate commerce regulations.
- Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required.
- Keen understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements.
Work Environment
- Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk, hear, stand, and walk.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without assistance; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Exposed to warehouse conditions such as moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
