About the role
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and material management functions in support of construction and operational activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, staging, and distribution activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse personnel while promoting accountability, teamwork, and productivity.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
- Cook up material staging and delivery schedules to support field operations and project timelines.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, shortages, or shipping issues and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee organization and cleanliness of warehouse facilities, laydown yards, storage areas, and material locations.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and security of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Collaborate with procurement, project management, field leadership, and vendors regarding material availability and delivery schedules.
- Prepare reports related to inventory levels, material usage, warehouse activities, and operational performance.
- Serve as a key operational partner by anticipating material needs, resolving supply issues, and ensuring timely material availability for construction activities.
Requirements
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and material handling practices.
- Understanding of construction materials, tools, and equipment preferred.
- Strong leadership and employee supervision skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage changing operational demands.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of inventory control systems and warehouse software.
- Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with field operations, project teams, and vendors.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and warehouse safety practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and inventory management systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of warehouse, logistics, inventory, or material management experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Construction, electrical contracting, industrial, or commercial industry experience strongly preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of inventory control systems and warehouse software.
- Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
