Responsibilities
- Assist the Warehouse Manager with the supervision and coordination of all aspects of warehouse operations.
- Effectively and efficiently handle customer service complaints and concerns.
- Train new team members in job duties.
- Comfort level working in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
- Follow company guidelines and company operational policies.
- Recruit and interview new team members
- Attend and participate in annual Leadership & Development training sessions
- Assign job tasks according to shipping schedules
- Cook and prepare food products and support goods in accordance with established company standards and procedures and within budgeted guidelines while controlling cost
- Maintain a safe and positive work environment in compliance with OSHA, company standards, local, state, and federal requirements
- Utilize and train team members on handheld scanners to perform all functions: pick, sort, pack, receive, stock, etc.
- Maintain positive customer relationships
- Reporting: Assist in compiling daily key indicators
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork
- Warehouse Inventory Planning: Maintain inventory control through effective warehouse methods
- Aid Manager with quarterly counting and/or annual physical inventories using solo chain system reports inventory software in order to ensure inventory accuracy
- Warehouse Operations: Review the load sheet and verify the accuracy of the assembled load
- Aid Driver where needed with pre-departure load check
- Make recommendations to the Manager on operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
- Audit and 5s ready at all times
- Perform regular Gemba walks
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager and/or Director
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, some college with equivalent work experience, 2 year degree preferred
- 2-3 years of warehouse, manufacturing or production experience
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience
- Must have and maintain forklift certification
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control
- Must successfully pass a background check every third year on your anniversary date
- Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
- Walking in/ around the warehouse with great frequency; many facilities are over a quarter mile in length
- Able to access all areas of the building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation)
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
- Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures [33-38 degrees], and in environments with exposure to loud machinery
