About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor reports to the Warehouse Manager and assists in overseeing daily warehouse operations, directing and coordinating warehouse employees, and ensuring proper product delivery to customers. This role is responsible for employee and visitor safety, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, safety rules, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in daily operations and safety compliance.
  • Order, plan, schedule, and monitor facility material and equipment requirements.
  • Maintain necessary documentation and follow specified guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage warehouse inventory in accordance with company policy and work instructions.
  • Conduct all shipping and receiving activities, including arranging transportation (truckload and LTL carriers).
  • Route and schedule company drivers for Sigma assets.
  • Ensure compliance with company programs, policies, and applicable laws.
  • Train and develop warehouse operations personnel.
  • Coordinate job assignments and ensure compliance with safety and 5-S activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary company information.
  • Direct warehouse staff to ensure efficient time management and daily activities.
  • Accurately check orders prior to shipment.
  • Maintain proper flow of day-to-day operations in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
  • Experience in warehousing planning, scheduling, inventory control, or traffic management preferred.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, pickers, scrubbers) and train others.
  • Experience in a modern warehouse environment with knowledge of operations techniques and inventory/logistics management.
  • Strong computer skills for warehouse management systems, scanners, and data entry.
  • Strong math skills for inventory counts and measurements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and work overtime as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs; walk, climb, kneel, stoop, and balance throughout the shift.
