ASSA ABLOY is growing and there has never been a more exciting time to join us! Our regional manufacturing facility or South Central Service Center located in Mesquite, Texas is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor. This role will be based on-site and report directly to our Operations Manager.
About the role
You will be responsible for coordinating the daily functions of the concentrated areas. In this hands-on role, you will work as a liaison between the Front End, Shipping Coordinator and Operations Supervisor. This position will be responsible for chasing orders to ensure the timely completion for delivery as well as supervise the shipping and receiving personnel and assist with Mesquite Fleet.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager on daily decision making.
- Assist in setting and obtaining strategic goals and objectives for the department.
- Manage orders for picking and loading.
- Be responsible for shipping, receiving, steel & parts personnel.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by executing the periodic cycle count process.
- Oversee the storage and distribution of all items received from suppliers ensuring a smooth and consistent operation.
- Facilitate smooth shift transitions and act as a liaison between both shifts.
- Coordinate orders to meet loading and delivery schedules.
- Work closely with the finance team on executing the year-end physical inventory.
- Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on forklifts.
- Manage rack space and ensure rack safety through regular inspections.
- Coordinate daily with the Customer Service Representatives.
- Provide direction and training to team members as needed.
- Maintain a safe and harmonious working environment holding self and others accountable to OSHA and ASSA ABLOY standards.
- Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous leadership experience in a warehouse setting.
- Preferred experience with forklift operation and warehousing practices.
- Proficient in reading and writing legibly.
- Ability to analyze orders effectively.
- Strong communication skills to direct and interact with employees.
- Solid understanding of mathematics for inventory management.
- Capable of working independently and taking initiative.
- Physically capable of standing and walking throughout shifts.
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills.
- Thrives in a team-oriented environment focused on achieving collective goals.
- Leadership ability, excellent people skills, and the ability to develop relationships and influence all levels within the organization.
