About the role

Performs functions directed toward ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant movement of raw materials and finished goods. This is a hands-on position responsible for leading daily warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and workforce performance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Enforce food safety and regulatory compliance protocols related to GMP, HACCP, CCP, Allergen Control, Pest Control & Sanitation, and FDA Regulations to prevent contamination and ensure product integrity of raw material and finished goods.
  • Ensure all lot codes are accurately documented.
  • Maintain 100% accuracy for shipping and receiving operations, including secure loading of finished goods, unloading of raw material, inventory accuracy, stock rotation, and warehouse space utilization.
  • Investigate damages to products or equipment due to warehouse personnel actions.
  • Supervise warehouse staff and daily activities, including directing, training, and motivating warehouse leads and forklift operators.
  • Schedule and manage labor hours to meet production and customer demand while ensuring compliance with labor regulations.
  • Coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Train employees on safe material handling practices, including raw material, finished goods, Hazmat, PPE requirements, and powered industrial truck operation.
  • Conduct daily and monthly walk-through safety checks.
  • Perform regular safety audits and housekeeping inspections.
  • Ensure forklifts, pallet jacks, and dock equipment receive proper preventative maintenance.
  • Identify bottlenecks, reduce damage/waste, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Review documentation and collect data to ensure operational compliance and accuracy.
  • Enforce and maintain proper storage and identification for Hazmat inventory; follow and enforce guidelines for Hazmat shipments in accordance with IATA, FAA, and DOT.
  • Perform additional tasks or special projects as assigned by the warehouse manager.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree preferred and/or 5 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Food plant experience and knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and Allergen Protocol are required.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lb.
  • Ability to climb ladders as required.

Work Environment

The job is performed on the production floor area where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles from ingredients, and will be in the presence of or operating machinery.

Starting at $54,000.00 - $68,000.00 a year.
