About the role
The Warehouse/Storeroom Attendant position is located in Metropolis, IL. This non-exempt role reports to the Foreman and performs assigned duties according to specific procedures.
Responsibilities
- Stores, removes, loads, and unloads all types of materials from storage bins, pallets and vehicles that cannot be handled by material handling devices
- Operates manual or mechanical devices and stocks inventory shelves
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Assorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, or color
- Moves materials and supplies from the warehouse and prepares for delivery
- Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools, or stock items
- Records material items received or distributed
- Maintains inventory records
- Performs routine housekeeping tasks to maintain work area
- Receives packages by equipment and inspects to ensure the package is not damaged
- Inventory Management by verifying counts, location, item and ensuring that items stocked
- Order Picking by reading, verifying, and preparing orders and placing them in proper locations
- Labels and organizes parts in proper locations
- Able to work a swing shift and twelve-hour days/nights
- Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction
Requirements
- High school or equivalent
- Forklift experience
- Computer experience with Microsoft and inventory system
- Ability to work with a team
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Some sites may require forklift certification
Qualifications
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
- Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Pay
Final agreed-upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
