About the role
DSG is seeking a Warehouse Senior Associate in Fargo, ND. This is a full-time, hourly position with work typically performed between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, though hours may vary based on business needs.
In addition to warehouse duties, this role serves as a backup delivery driver when necessary. As an employee-owned company (ESOP), DSG fosters a culture of respect, teamwork, and growth, where career paths are rich with possibilities and successes are shared.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pull material from locations to fill orders.
- Pack, label, and place filled orders in the proper location for delivery.
- Operate warehouse equipment (forklift, picker, turret, etc.—training/certification provided).
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment: sweep and mop floors, clean shelves, sort and dispose of trash.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Use computer and/or RF gun to check product status, availability, and location.
- Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other required technologies.
- Notify the Branch Manager about inventory shortages or overages.
- Collaborate with warehouse associates to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Load delivery trucks as needed.
- Handle warehouse calls when necessary.
- Assist in Receiving as workload permits.
- Perform one or more skilled tasks, including:
- Wire measuring/cutting machine operation: cut wire to proper length, mark tags with new amounts, and fill racks.
- Pipe machine operation: cut pipe to proper length and depth.
- Delivery driving: inspect trucks before delivery (tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, etc.), report vehicle issues, and schedule repairs.
- Inventory Control: conduct daily cycle counting, process returns of defective products and special order returns.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication: create custom sheet metal fittings/ductwork (measure, mark, fasten joints via solder, welds, caulk, bolts, or clips), including ducts, flashings, plenums, returns, and transitions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License, current DOT medical card (or ability to obtain one), and an acceptable driving record (required).
- Advanced product and warehouse knowledge, typically acquired through five or more years of applicable experience.
- Safety training on material handling and forklift driving.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
