Warehouse Associate/Backup Local Delivery Driver
Location: Hanford, CA - Retail Shop
Pay: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour
About the role
As a Warehouse & Delivery Associate at Airgas, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and precise management of materials from the warehouse floor directly to our customers' doors. Operating out of an Airgas facility, you will bridge internal logistics and direct-to-customer service—handling everything from high-accuracy inventory control and material movement to route deliveries using commercial vehicles. Responsibilities
- Receive, label, stock, and organize incoming industrial gases, supplies, and hard-goods.
- Conduct regular inventory audits, perform order picking/packing, and verify incoming/outgoing invoices to ensure total inventory accuracy.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to manage dock stock and load/unload service trucks.
- Operate commercial motor vehicles to execute timely route deliveries of atmospheric and flammable gases.
- Consistently observe company safety protocols (SOPs), wear required PPE, and comply with all federal, state, local, and DOT regulations.
- Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance defects immediately.
- Ensure complete and accurate delivery documentation (manifests, receipts, and load counts) while delivering high-quality service and maintaining strong customer relationships at every delivery location.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT (or able to obtain within 90 days from hire date) & Airbrake endorsements.
- Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements.
- No more than two (2) traffic convictions OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
- No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years.
- Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
- Able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
- Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of prior experience in warehouse operations or warehouse maintenance.
- Prior experience operating a forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity or working knowledge of SAP and PROS software.
